Jan Hewlett is a member of Azimuth’s Investment Committee and leads the firm’s equity portfolio activities, including investment selection and portfolio management. She also works with clients on specific portfolio issues and special research initiatives and previously served as the firm’s Chief Compliance Officer. Jan has more than 30 years of experience focused on investment research, portfolio construction, investment management and outside manager selection across asset classes.

Jan was previously the director of equities for Diamond Capital Management, the investment management subsidiary of Dow Chemical’s pension fund and captive reinsurance company with over $10 billion in assets under management. There, Jan led the research and portfolio management team, directly managed equity portfolios with a value of $750 million, and she led the manager selection and asset allocation strategy for the $4 billion equity allocation of Dow’s pension funds. As a member of Dow’s Investment Policy Committee, she was involved with the investment management process for all pension fund asset classes including equities, fixed income and alternative investments (including venture capital, private equity and real estate). Earlier in her career, Jan served as director of research for an independent investment advisor with more than $2 billion in assets under management.
